The Philadelphia 76ers (32-14, first in the Eastern Conference) take on the Denver Nuggets (28-18, fifth in the Western Conference) on Tuesday, March 30, at 9 PM ET.
This is the second meeting between Philadelphia and Denver this year. The Nuggets won the first meeting 115-103.
Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers with 39 points. Denver was led by Gary Harris’ 21 points.
The Nuggets have won two in a row to keep pace in the Northwest Division and are now seven games out of first behind the NBA-leading Utah Jazz (35-11). Denver is 7-3 in the last 10 games overall.
The Sixers are coming off a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on the road and are now just a half-game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference and the Atlantic Division. The 76ers are 8-2 in their last 10 games played.
Denver took down the Atlanta Hawks 126-102 in their most recent game. Aaron Gordon contributed 13 points in his debut for the Nuggets.
"I see no limits for this team," Gordon said. "It looks like we have all the pieces for this team, we have depth. We're covered in a lot of different spots. As long as we're working together there's no stopping us."
Nikola Jokic added 16 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Michael Porter Jr. had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
"He knows why he (Gordon) came here, he knows what he can do, he knows how he can help and he's doing that," Jokic said. "He's embraced it. He saw how we play. If he's open the ball's going to find him."
The Sixers are fresh off a loss to the Clippers, 122-112, in Doc Rivers’ return to Los Angeles after being fired by the team after last season.
"They kept on the attack and moved the ball," said Rivers. "You can see they all trust each other with the ball. Kawhi and Paul played well. If they continue to do all that, they are going to be hard to stop."
Tobias Harris led the Sixers with 29 points. Danny Green poured in 17 and Shake Milton scored 16. The loss ended a six-game road winning streak for the Sixers. It also ended a four-game win streak overall.
Monte Morris (quad) and Gary Clark (not with the team) are both out for Denver tonight. Greg Whittington (knee) is listed as day-to-day. Joel Embiid will be out of the lineup again for the Sixers.
It’s hard to bet against the Sixers right now. They are one of the best teams in the NBA, but they are barely holding on to the top spot in the Eastern Conference. They don’t expect to have Embiid back until their current road trip ends.
The Nuggets are -4.5-point favorites tonight at home and have the -185 money line. Even though the Sixers struggled against the Clippers in their most recent game, they still have Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons on the court. Your money is best spent on the Over 221 total points.
