I have been a trader in the financial markets for many years. I started trading futures way back in the early 1990's. I'm not proud to admit that I lost several thousand dollars as I learned and crafted my skills.
I was drawn to sports handicapping because it lends itself to providing excellent returns with a couple of keys in place.
First, before you can apply a solid money management program to anything from stocks, futures, options and sports betting, you must have an edge. I like simple edges. A simple edge is figured by using a flat betting model.
For example, take a sampling of a number of outcomes using a specific selection criteria to see if you have an edge. Once you have the edge, you are in business.
In my real money accounts, I have a very specific money management formula designed to compound my returns. For this service on Veribet and my other handicapper account on CapperTek, I follow a 3 Tier system which you can find on my handicapper page.
The point I am trying to make is that money management will make or break you in any venture which requires risk of capital.
